A North American redesign of the PC Engine featuring a larger black chassis and region-locked TurboChip card slot. Composite AV required the TurboBooster accessory on early units, with RF available out of the box. It retained the rear expansion port for the TurboGrafx-CD add-on. Software libraries are largely shared with the Japanese PC Engine, subject to region lockouts.
