NEC’s original white PC Engine is an ultra-compact home console built around Hudson’s HuC6280 CPU and HuCard cartridges. It outputs RF by default and features a rear expansion bus for peripherals such as the CD-ROM² System. A single controller port supports multitap accessories for multiplayer. It established the platform’s library and hardware ecosystem in Japan.
